Brooklyn residents marched tonight in honor of all those who have been hurt or killed during attacks on transgender individuals.
The march for Transgender Day of Remembrance began at 5 p.m. at Columbus Park in Downtown Brooklyn. The group marched to the Brooklyn Bridge to bring attention to the hatred and fear experienced by transgender and gender non-conforming individuals.
As News 12 previously reported, last month Kimball "Kimy" Hartman was attacked while walking with friends in Bushwick.
Police are still looking for the men involved in the attack. If you recognize any of the suspects, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
