Kensington residents say they are confused after two new bus shelters were installed along the B23 bus line, which is on the chopping block if the state doesn't bail out the Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
Residents say they are angry the new shelters were installed due to the likelihood the bus line will be cut. The Department of Transportation says Cemusa, the advertising firm contracted to build the shelters around New York City, went ahead with placing them in certain locations. The DOT says the company has been instructed not to install any more shelters along lines that may be eliminated.
Cemusa paid the city more than $1 billion to install more than 3,000 new bus stops, as well as news stands and public toilets.
