A bulge in a road in Newark has residents frustrated with unanswered questions.

The bulge first appeared on Delancy Street in the Ironbound neighborhood on Thursday morning.

Residents told News 12 first responders and crews from PSE&G showed up to investigate. Some were asked to evacuate their homes for a possible gas leak.

PSE&G informed News 12 Saturday the bulge was not a gas leak and whatever it is can wait until the holiday weekend is over.

The water department is looking into the matter on Tuesday.

Residents have been allowed back in their homes, but some of them say that bulge is expanding.
