News 12 explored Bronx Documentary Center, where there's always something fun and educational happening for the whole family.
The Bronx Documentary Center is a hub in Melrose to learn about and discover the traditional documentary style through photographs and film. They offer education programs year-round for students and adults.
The nonprofit was founded by retired New York Times war photographer Michael Kamber. The center features a gallery of rotating displays giving a look at old New York, the Bronx and more.
The exhibits feature high-quality work by various artists from all over the world as well as a photo library. In the heart of the South Bronx, the center focuses on welcoming everyone to engage and interact with the photos and the artists themselves.
Every July, the center holds a Latin American Photo Festival that takes place in the community garden next door and in the surrounding five blocks so that the whole community can enjoy.
