WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

The last weekend of 2024 is in sight, and it could involve you grabbing that umbrella before you step outside. A system will be moving in overnight into Saturday, bringing a chance for rain. It may bring a touch of freezing rain before all rain takes over.

Temperatures will gradually warm up overnight, so the chances of freezing rain are isolated and brief. But nonetheless, if you will be out between 2 a.m. to 4 a.m., and see light showers falling, take it easy on the roads- especially on any overpasses, off ramps/on ramps and less traveled roads.

Going through the day on Saturday will be that on-and-off rain chance coming down. There will be a batch in the morning, one midday and another in the afternoon. Afterward, there is another round of rain Sunday morning with an isolated spotty shower possible in the afternoon. It will be a breezy to windy afternoon with temperatures on the rise.

Temperatures will get into the upper-50s for Sunday and that warmth will linger into Monday morning. Monday's record high is 60 degrees (set back in 1984) and that record could be in jeopardy of being tied or broken. Monday morning will involve moderate batches of rainfall and gusty winds. There will be drier and breezy conditions to follow for Monday afternoon into Tuesday and then Tuesday evening sees another system approach.

This next one could bring wet weather for any New Year's Eve festivities. The wet weather will linger into New Year's Day through at least the morning hours, with drier and breezy conditions to follow.

Then get ready for a temperature drop to follow. We'll go from the 50s to the 30s between Wednesday and Friday.
