Hundreds of families spent the sunny Father's Day at a safety-themed carnival at Floyd Bennett Field.
There was music and bounce houses, but the event aimed to teach children about tools to stay safe. It marked the second annual Safety Day, organized by Jewish nonprofit Magenu.
There was an FDNY fire safety unit where kids learned about smoke detectors. There was also a Shomrim safety patrol vehicle, which helped kids learn about how officers work to keep the community safe.
The group that organized the event also goes to local Hebrew and Jewish schools to teach kids about personal safety.
