? School buses are still being left unsecured on Brooklyn streets. The discovery comes just one day after a Crown Heights girl, who was run over by a school bus, was laid to rest.
News 12 Brooklyn found two unsecured buses on Nostrand Avenue Thursday. However, one vehicle did have its tires turned toward the curb. Commercial bus driving instructors say every bus should be parked that way, since drivers are taught to do it that way. The failure of bus operators to secure their vehicles has some Brooklyn residents urging the city to ticket drivers.
Amber Sadiq, 8, was killed Monday when an 8-year-old boy allegedly snuck onto an empty school bus and released the parking brake. The runaway bus hit and pinned Sadiq while she was walking with her brother. The boy is due in court Friday.
