Police are asking for the public's help in locating a Bronx woman who went missing from a resident home for the mentally ill earlier this week.

Relatives of 52-year-old Theresa Mckay say she was last seen Tuesday evening leaving the Beacon of Hope institution. The woman was supposed take a bus to her treatment program, but her family says she never made it on board.

According to Mckay's relatives, the 52-year-old is schizophrenic and hasn't taken her medication since she disappeared, raising concerns that she might harm herself.

The Beacon of Hope is run by Catholic Charities, which declined to comment on this case. Meanwhile, Mckay's family is considering removing her from the center once she is found.
