Democratic Sen. Kevin Parker was arraigned Tuesday after being accused of attacking a New York Post photographer who took his picture outside his Flatbush home May 8.
Parker pled not guilty to second- and third-degree assault, third- and fourth-degree criminal mischief, third-degree menacing and second-degree harassment. Though he had hoped his charges would be reduced, Parker says he isn't worried because he is innocent.
The district attorney's office says Parker may be interested in a plea bargain at some point. If convicted, he faces up to seven years in prison. Parker is due back in court September 3.
