A love of art and friendship gave rise to Shiny Sparkle Labs and Studio in Red Hook, Brooklyn.
Matthew Day Perez and Dorie Guthrie met in their college's glass department and nearly two decades later, transformed their shared passion into a thriving business.
"It all started with two kilns, a dream, and maybe a bottle of wine," said co-founder Matthew Day Perez.
At their studio, visitors can take classes and learn the craft of glassmaking.
Projects range from coasters to charcuterie boards, blending creativity with functionality.
"People come in thinking they can’t do it, but something magical always happens in the kiln. The results are always beautiful," said Day Perez.
Located in Red Hook, Shiny Sparkle Labs and Studio is a space where creativity, community, and glass collide.
