The season of shortages is having its effects on the arts in Brooklyn.
The Brooklyn Arts Council tells News 12 supplies to help them teach are hard to find, and when they can be found, they're more expensive.
Lack of tools is already adding on to what has been a difficult time to navigate through the pandemic for the organization. Many young people in the borough have utilized the arts to help young themselves navigate issues like mental health.
"Pencils, paper, glue, markers, we can always use those,” said Pamela Allen, a teaching artist for the council. “We can always use these tools to make an interesting lesson for the students, but now we can't even find those things and if we can find them they're so incredibly expensive."
