Women with busy careers, work schedules and family lives know that it's not always easy to balance fitness with all of their other responsibilities.
It's why a group of New York City mothers, business owners and bloggers came together to burn some calories while supporting each other and empowering others.
The website Sisterhued was launched last month as a network run by four women who aim to improve the lives of women of color. The site's founders are hosting events to show others that it's fun and easy to exercise.
"There's so many amazing things that women can do to make their lives better. We are all from different backgrounds, we are all parenting and lifestyle bloggers," says co-founder Shaniqua Garvin. "So why not reach out to an audience and encourage them to enrich their lives?"
Garvin's journey hasn't been easy. Her husband died in 2015 from a health issue, and she says she was pre-diabetic with high cholesterol. Since then, she has lost 50.
For Garvin and the other founders, Sisterhued is not just a website but a way to empower and educate other women to make healthier lifestyle decisions.
