New York City will see a slight warmup for Sunday ahead of a chance of showers late in the week.
Overnight highs will be in the mid-20s under mostly clear skies.
Sunday will consist of mostly sunny skies and a slight warmup with highs in the mid-40s.
Monday starts a pattern of sunny to partly sunny skies and temperatures in the low- to mid-40s for the new workweek.
NOW: Cold and calm tonight with a mostly clear sky.
NEXT: Winds pick up Sunday along with highs up into the upper 40's. They will gust as high as 30 mph by the afternoon.
NEXT - BITTER BLAST: Windy conditions continue into Monday morning, sending wind chills into the single digits.
FORECAST
TONIGHT: Partly to mostly clear. Turning very cold. Lows crash to 22.
SUNDAY - BITTER BLAST PM: Sunny but turning breezy. Highs reach 46, feeling more like 30's with a west wind gusting 25-30 mph. A cold front will pass during the evening with a slight chance of a flake or drop. Lows then crash to 21 with gusts as high as 35 mph.
MONDAY - BITTER BLAST AM: Frigid morning with wind chills in the single digits. Windy, especially early. Highs struggle to reach 32. Lows down to 23 with a lighter wind.
TUESDAY: Partly sunny and chilly. A slight chance of an evening shower from a clipper system that will remain to the north. Highs up to 43. Lows around 34.
WEDNESDAY: Mostly sunny and milder. Highs close to 50, then lows drop back down to 31.
THURSDAY: Mostly cloudy with the chance for a few light rain showers. Highs around 43. Lows down to 26.
FRIDAY: Morning clouds yield to afternoon sun. Colder with highs near 40, lows around 31.
NEXT WEEKEND: finally... the potential for a MILD weekend! Highs likely into the 50's or close to 60. Lows around 35-40.
