With Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-N.Y.) announcing his plan to bring table-style gambling to the state, many are focusing on Coney Island as a potential site for a new casino.

"It would improve the area. It would bring people down and businesses around it and restaurants and it would help everything so I'm for it," says Borough President Marty Markowitz.

While many officials and residents praise the idea of added revenue to the area, others are concerned about the potential negative impacts.

"It cheapens the whole experience of being here. I just think the casino scene is unhealthy and I am very much against it," says Andrea Bobrow.

While many may be ready to test their skills on the craps or blackjack tables, the plan requires an amendment to the state constitution to allow gaming and approval from the city to build a casino on Coney Island. Any construction would likely be at least two years away.
