A 32-year-old Flatlands man was charged with murder in what sources tell News 12 was a domestic dispute between him and a 26-year-old woman.
Police say they were sent to 1886 New York Ave. Thursday night for a wellness check. When they got inside the apartment, they found the woman, now identified as Dahana Jean, with marks on her neck. She was pronounced dead at the scene and her death was ruled a homicide.
John Roseau was arrested and charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
News 12 spoke with residents like Klevon Davis who say they were shocked to hear about the woman’s death.
"The age is very young. It's a shock. It's a surprising thing to happen here, it's quiet," said Davis.
