Director Spike Lee is remembering the Staten Island man who died during an apparent police chokehold last month.
A large-scale picture of Eric Garner is set up outside Lee's film studio in Fort Greene with the words "I can't breathe." It was reportedly created by artist Adrian Franks.
The medical examiner says Garner's death was caused by the chokehold, ruling it a homicide.
However, the city's police unions are calling the homicide ruling "political."
