On the anniversary of Biggie Smalls' death, New Yorkers are spreading love the Brooklyn way through art and community to honor is legacy.
His legacy wasn't the only one being honored. People also paid tribute to the recent passing of his mother, Voletta Wallace, as well as DJ Mister Cee, and DJ Clark Kent.
Brooklynites gathered along Fulton Street just steps from where Biggie had once lived.
The community, local officials, artists and hip-hop legends like the creator of the Video Music Box Ralph McDaniels came out to celebrate Biggie's everlasting impact.
"Biggie's words were so important and they go through the test of time. It's been almost 30 years and here we are still saying those words, listening to his music. Kids that weren't even born yet know his songs. And that's the importance of our words," said McDaniels.
