A coastal storm is bringing another round of snow to the city today, with periods of lighter precipitation at times. Some mixing with rain is possible near the coast, but snow will be the main type overall, especially later today as heavier snow moves in. Expect a few inches of snow by tonight, with conditions improving late this evening. Areas north and west of the city, and parts of New Jersey and the Hudson Valley, may see slightly higher totals.
Looking ahead:
Cold weather will settle in after today and last through much of the week in NYC. The coldest stretch will be Monday night into Tuesday night, with temperatures well below normal and wind chills in the single digits. It will moderate a bit midweek but remain chilly, then turn colder again late week. There may be small chances for light snow or rain later in the week, mainly outside the city, but no major storms are expected at this time.
