The intense bitter cold is slowly retreating back north. While we do not have a legitimate, long-term warming trend in the upcoming days, we will see daily highs warmer than where they have been.
The bitter, bitter cold takes a hiatus, and a more manageable winter chill ensues. In fact, there might be a day or two where temperatures actually get into the 40s.
There are no big storms to track for this week. Nor will there be any vicious cold to monitor. The weather will warm during the day allowing for the snow and ice to melt a little each day. At night the temperatures will drop below the freezing mark to allow that melt to re-freeze. Melt-freeze-melt-freeze. Copy and paste that weather scenario in for the next few days.
We will keep an eye on the model guidance over the next few days. It's possible by Sunday a weather system slides thru the region with some disruptive weather. With the bitter cold not really present will the precipitation be snow, rain or a mix of both? Stay Tuned.
