News 12 Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Darryl Green says a coastal flood warning is in effect for all five boroughs of New York City for high tide Friday morning. 1-2 inches of inundation is possible in the most prone areas along the coast and shoreline. A wind advisory was issued from 10 p.m. Thursday to 10 p.m. Friday as gusts of 30-55 mph are expected.
TONIGHT: Moderate to heavy rain between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m. Wind gusts of 45-55 mph. Temps rise up to 57.
FRIDAY: Rain tapers to scattered showers/drizzle between 4 a.m. and 9 a.m. Then another round of some showers through noon with the cold front. Gusts of 20-30 mph rise again to 45-55 mph by noon through the afternoon. Temperatures drop from 50 near 11 a.m. to 25 by 3 p.m. Watch for areas of patchy ice. Lows dip all the way down to 13 with gusts of 30+ mph continuing.
SATURDAY: Feels-like temperatures are very cold in the morning. Between -5 and 0. Temperatures rise to about 21 but feels-like temperatures remain single digits (2-7). Lows dip back down to 16.
CHRISTMAS DAY SUNDAY - BITTER BLAST: Coldest Christmas since 2000! Lows near 16 with feels-like temperatures near 0. Highs go up to 27. Lows then back down to 19.
