WHAT'S NEW: Cold today. A winter weather advisory will be in effect Thursday for Nassau County and Western Suffolk County from 4 a.m. to 11 a.m. for snow, ice and poor travel conditions.

Cold air in place will lead to icy conditions Thursday morning. Please use caution. Light snow develops after 4 a.m. and a quick coating to 2 inches could fall. A mix of snow, ice and rain during the morning rush will create potentially dangerous travel conditions. Mix to rain by 11 a.m. and rain showers taper off in the afternoon. Our active weather pattern will bring another snow, ice to rain event Saturday afternoon into Sunday morning.
