Tonight Clouds will increase across the New York City area tonight as a warm front approaches. Winds from the southeast will slowly strengthen and temperatures will gradually rise overnight. Scattered rain showers will begin developing late tonight.
Monday Showers will continue on Monday, but it won’t be raining the entire day. There will be breaks between rounds of rain. Winds will become stronger and gustier through the afternoon, and the air will turn milder. A few thunderstorms are possible later in the day as the atmosphere becomes more unstable.
Monday Night The most active weather is expected Monday night when a strong cold front moves through the New York City area. Rain will become heavier at times, and a line of showers and thunderstorms could bring strong wind gusts. Some minor coastal flooding and localized beach erosion are also possible in vulnerable shoreline areas during high tide.
Early Tuesday into Wednesday As colder air moves in late Monday night into early Tuesday, a brief mix of rain and snow could occur before precipitation ends. After that, the weather turns colder and drier. Tuesday will be breezy and chilly, with temperatures struggling through the 40s, and it will remain cool but calmer on Wednesday as high pressure settles over the region.
