Man charged in attempted abduction of woman on subway captured in viral video

A cellphone video captured a scary moment Monday morning on a Bronx train that has led to an arrest of a man.
The video shows a man pick up a female and take her off the 6 train and onto the platform at the Morrison Avenue-Soundview station.
The moments before the abduction shows him trying to speak with the female, but it doesn't appear the two know each other. The man stared at two sleeping passengers and nudged one of them. When the train stopped, he quickly snatched the female and sprinted off the train.
The female woke up, ran back onto the train and yelled for others on the subway to call police.
Sources say men who had had seen the video recognized the suspect and began hitting him. Those men then called 911 and kept the suspect near as police arrived to apprehend him.
Police say the man, 48-year-old Sonny Alloway from the Bronx, is charged with unlawful imprisonment.
They say the victim was not treated for any injuries at the time.
Train riders say passengers should be on the lookout because there may be similar scenarios happening on the subway.
"I mean I've heard a lot of stories about a lot of kidnappings going on so I'm sure he's not the only one," says one rider.
The video has been viewed hundreds of thousands of times on social media.
