A bus operator stabbed to death seven years ago while on the job in Bed-Stuy is now being honored in a permanent way.
Family, friends and fellow bus drivers gathered to remember Edwin Thomas during a street sign unveiling in Mill Basin Friday.
The corner of 49th Street and Fillmore Avenue has been co-named Edwin Thomas Way. The location is a depot where the B46 stops, which is the bus Thomas was driving when he was attacked by a passenger in 2008.
Loved ones say the street co-naming will help ensure that his legacy lives on.
