Members of the Writers Guild of America, East are picketing in the Bronx amid the nationwide writers strike.

With streaming platforms on the rise, writers say they have been getting the short end on production deals. At the entrances of York Studios in the Bronx, writers lined up to let their voices be heard.

Members of the Writers Guild of America urged other unions to do the same in halting production. Late-night television was the first to go last weekend. Drew Barrymore announced that she will be stepping down from hosting the MTV Movie and TV Awards show this Sunday in solidarity with the striking writers.

News 12 reached out to York Studios for comment on the ongoing strikes but has not heard back.
