If you're a teenager looking for a summer job, or know a teen who is, the city's Department of Youth and Community Development may be able to help.
Its summer youth employment program helps young people land temporary paid positions in several areas, including healthcare, government and non-profit.
Chrisha Williams and Raynisha Berman are both 15-year-old Brooklyn girls who already have impressive resumes thanks to the program. They both found jobs at Dr. Susan Smith McKinney Nursing and Rehabilitation Center last summer.
New York City residents between 14 and 24 years old are eligible. They can get six weeks of work experience during July and August.
The program also provides workshops for job readiness, career exploration, life skills and financial literacy.
