Sunset Park tenants are celebrating tonight after their super was evicted and escorted off the premises.
The tenants were also rallying to put pressure on the district attorney to drop a case against one of their own.
Tenant Dennis Flores and the super, Israel Espinoza, were arrested for assault during another protest held by tenants who claimed they lived in deplorable conditions. Tenants say charges should be filed against Espinoza for attacking a 65-year-old disabled tenant.
Tenants say that workers came to make repairs to the building in July, but when residents went to take a closer look, the super allegedly assaulted an elderly woman. Residents reported that tenant Dennis Flores tried to protect the woman from being further injured.
