SUNY Westchester Community College is holding the line on tuition for the upcoming academic year.  

County Executive George Latimer and the Board of Legislators announced on Monday that they will not increase the tuition for students who will attend SUNY Westchester Community College for the 2022-2023 academic year. 

This will reverse the incremental tuition increase that was approved by the Board of Trustees back in April of this year.

"So, what they submitted to us this year in their budget amongst other things is a budget that will freeze the tuition cost for students for the 2022-2023 academic year. The total tuition of your full-time student for both semesters, four-thousand seven hundred thirty dollars and that's frozen from what it was in this past academic year," says Westchester County Executive George Latimer. 

Once approved, the budget will mark the second consecutive year without a tuition increase.

Meanwhile, a new Yonkers campus is set to open this fall at Cross County Center.
