Police have arrested a teenage suspect in connection with a shooting outside a Soundview bodega Tuesday night that sent an 8-year-old boy to the hospital.
According to Commissioner Ray Kelly, 15-year-old Eduardo Rodriguez fired a single shot into a crowd outside Papa Yala's Deli and Grocery as he biked past. Armando Bigo, 8, was inside when the bullet hit him in the shoulder. Kelly says the shooting was gang-related.
Rodriguez has been charged with attempted murder, assault, and criminal possesion of a weapon. Bigo is listed in fair condition at Jacobi Medical Center.
