Thousands of Brooklyn students are embarking on the next phase in their lives with a college degree.
Family and friends turned out to watch about 3,000 undergrads officially graduate from Brooklyn College in Flatbush.
The students were joined by several honorable guests, including Sen. Charles Schumer, whose parents both attended the school. Former Brooklyn Borough President and alumni Marty Markowitz was also in attendance to receive the school's presidential medal.
Most students say they were born and raised in the borough, and are proud to represent it as they take their next steps.
