A tractor-trailer carrying beer overturned on the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway and caused major delays Monday morning.
All northbound lanes of the BQE and one southbound lane were shut at Hamilton Avenue after the crash around 4 a.m. on a ramp of the Gowanus Expressway.
Traffic was backed up all the way to the Verrazano Bridge, with both lanes of traffic just past Exit 26 shut down for hours as crews worked to remove the truck.
Fire officials say the 44-year-old driver of the Budweiser truck was transported to Methodist Hospital with minor injuries.
Officials say along with beer, the truck also spilled several gallons of diesel fuel, which made it difficult for crews to clean up. The BQE reopened around 10 a.m.
