Famed comedian Tracy Morgan hosted a block party Tuesday in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn.
The party served as a ribbon-cutting for the renovations at Marcy Playground, which was sponsored by TV channel TBS and the Bronx-born comedian's latest project, the series "The Last O.G.," through the Adopt-a-Park program. The work cost more than $200,000.
The event featured food, basketball and other activities. A colorful mural on the park's ground, inspired by graffiti art, serves to remind the community of the park's vibrancy.
Morgan says the party is his way of saying thank you to a place that is dear to him.
"This is where my community is," he said. "I'm so happy to be a part of the renovation."
