The president of the Uniformed Firefighters Association says the city must come up with a new plan on how to distribute the COVID-19 vaccine to the city's bravest.
Recently released numbers from the UFA showed that only 45% of its members are on board with getting the coronavirus vaccine.
The union says the reason officials believe so many firefighters are saying no thanks to the vaccine, is because they already had the virus and believe they are covered because of antibodies.
UFA President Andrew Ansbro says, "This vaccine is far too important to leave it to chance. That's why I'm advocating for all my members to have access to this vaccine scheduled and off duty. It's going to be near impossible for the department to get both vaccinations in an orderly manner."
