A 9-year-old hit-and-run victim was taken off life support Tuesday as representatives of his family say the man who was arrested for his death was actually bribed to take the blame.Representatives of Akeen Saluki?s family say that 16-year-old Shyquan Burns, who was arrested for the hit-and-run incident, was paid to take the blame by the actual offender. They say that the real driver is an ex-convict who was out on parole and did not want to be arrested. Police have not confirmed the information given by the family, but the family's spokesperson says that it is close to reality.Police made another arrest Tuesday in connection to the incident, but have not released any information.The hit-and-run incident happened last Tuesday on Malcolm X Boulevard where witnesses say that Saluki was mowed down by a car that ran a red light. Witnesses say that the car did not stop to see if the child was alright.Family members of the victim say that their son is now in a better place and will be remembered as someone who touched the lives of many.
