Authorities have released surveillance video of a man wanted in connection with a possible hate crime in Williamsburg.
According to investigators, the suspect got out of his gray Infiniti FX35 SUV and approached the victim using a homophobic slur as he was walking near Metropolitan and Marcy avenues back on Dec. 14.
They say the suspect, who was caught on camera at a pizza place close by, proceeded to strike the victim in the head and face multiple times, causing him to fall to the ground. He then got back into his car and drove away.
The 36-year-old victim suffered lacerations and bruising to the face and head, in addition to a broken nose. He was taken to New York Presbyterian Hospital, treated and released.
The man police are looking for is described as a white Hispanic with short black hair. He was wearing a dark-hooded sweatshirt with a dark-colored vest, and red and black checkered pants.
