The NYPD has released surveillance video of two of the men wanted in connection with a vicious attack on a transgender woman in Bushwick.
According to investigators, a total of four men approached the 28-year-old victim from behind, made anti-gay statements, and began to punch and kick her. It happened in front of 1250 Bushwick Ave. on Sunday.
Police say that one of the suspects even used a Plexiglas board to hit the victim in the head, leaving her unconscious.
In the video, authorities say you can see two of the men walking into a store. One is wearing a gray sleeveless sweatshirt with the word "Freedom" on it and a ski hat. The other is dressed in a blue sweatshirt and sweatpants.
Groups against LGBT violence gathered in the area following news of the attack. They chanted and held rainbow flags in protest of the assault.
The NYPD says its Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating. Anyone who may recognize the men in the video is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
The victim remains in critical condition at Elmhurst Hospital.
