Members of the Canarsie community gathered Saturday night to mourn the death of a student who died more than two weeks ago at Buffalo State College.
Bradley Doyley, 21, spent much of his youth playing basketball in the neighborhood playground before attending the upstate school.
The college senior's death is still being investigated, but it is believed to have been caused by injuries sustained during a hazing incident. At the time, Doyley was pledging Alpha Phi Alpha.
The fraternity has since been suspended.
People gathered outside his home in Canarsie for a candlelight vigil. He was remembered as someone with a bright smile and huge ambitions.
News 12 was told that Doyley's funeral is set for next Sunday.
