Volunteers helped improve Washington Avenue Sunday by weeding, placing mulch in tree beds and eliminating garbage.
The annual event is organized by the Washington Avenue Prospect Heights Association and Prospect Heights Street Tree Task Force.
Many merchants along the street also got involved because it makes the block consumer friendly.
Organizers tell News 12 that volunteers also have a chance to get a voucher for a free plant if they commit to taking care of the tree beds along the street.
