Voters will decide who will take former Rep. Michael Grimm's seat in a special election this week.
Grimm resigned after pleading guilty to tax evasion. There are three men vying for the 11th Congressional District seat, which consists of Staten Island and part of south Brooklyn.
They are Democrat Vincent Gentile, Green Party candidate James Lane and Republican Daniel Donovan.
Donovan is currently Staten Island's District Attorney. He says his primary focus is the economy.
Gentile is a New York City councilman. He says he wants to give the middle class tax breaks and raise the federal minimum wage to $13 an hour.
Lane says many people in the district are still dealing with damage from Superstorm Sandy and he wants to be their advocate.
The special election will be held Tuesday, May 5.
