Family and friends said goodbye tonight to an 88-year-old grandmother who was killed in a hit-and-run in Brownsville.
According to police, Isabel Rodriguez was struck near her home Monday night by 50-year-old Wayne Stokeling, who is a reverend in the community.
Stokeling told officers that he didn't notice hitting Rodriguez because he was eating ice cream. He faces several charges, including leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death.
The wake for Rodriguez will continue Friday, and she will be laid to rest on Saturday.
