Warm with a few more clouds this afternoon, then a comfortable start to the week for the Bronx

Much warmer with less wind for today as highs reach the mid 70s. Seasonable temperatures and mainly dry weather dominate through midweek before a significant warming trend pushes highs near 90 degrees by Friday and Saturday.

This afternoon:
A mix of clouds and sun through the day, but plenty of dry weather is expected with afternoon temperatures reaching the middle to upper 70s. There will be much less wind than on Saturday. Humidity levels remain comfortable, making for a pleasant day overall despite the cloud cover gradually thickening. Light outdoor clothing will be fine during the afternoon, though a light layer may be useful early in the morning after a notably cool start.

Tonight:
Partly cloudy with temperatures settling into the upper 50s to lower 60s. Winds remain light, and conditions stay dry. A comfortable evening for outdoor activities with no significant weather concerns. There is just the slight chance of a passing shower overnight.

Monday:
Sunny and seasonably pleasant with highs in the lower to middle 70s. Humidity remains low, and a light breeze develops during the afternoon. Excellent weather for outdoor plans, commuting, or spending time in parks and along the waterfront. Sunscreen is recommended despite the comfortable temperatures.

Tuesday:
Mostly sunny with temperatures in the lower to middle 70s. Clouds may increase during the afternoon, and there is a slight chance of a scattered shower developing late in the day. Most locations will stay dry, but it may be worth keeping an umbrella nearby if you'll be out during the afternoon or evening hours.

Wednesday:
Mostly sunny and pleasant with highs in the lower to middle 70s. Comfortable humidity and light winds continue. Another excellent day for outdoor activities with little weather-related disruption expected.

Thursday:
Mostly sunny and warmer with afternoon temperatures climbing into the lower to middle 80s. Humidity remains manageable, but the warmer temperatures will begin to provide a more summer-like feel. Lightweight clothing and hydration become increasingly important during the afternoon.

Friday:
Mostly sunny and hot with highs reaching the upper 80s to lower 90s. This will likely be the warmest day of the week and one of the hottest days so far this season. If spending extended periods outdoors, stay hydrated, take breaks in the shade, and avoid strenuous activity during the hottest part of the afternoon.

Saturday:
Mostly sunny and quite warm with temperatures once again reaching the upper 80s to lower 90s. A few scattered afternoon showers or thunderstorms are possible, but many locations will remain dry. Despite the small rain chance, most of the day appears favorable for outdoor activities. Heat and humidity may become somewhat uncomfortable during the afternoon.

Beach & Coastal Concerns:
A moderate risk of rip currents continues at area ocean beaches through Monday. Dangerous currents can develop even when surf conditions appear relatively calm. Swim only at guarded beaches and follow all lifeguard instructions.

In addition, the combination of a full moon and slightly elevated water levels may produce isolated pockets of minor coastal flooding around evening high tides through Sunday, especially in vulnerable shoreline and back-bay locations. Any flooding should be localized and minor.

Lastly, Monday, June 1 is the first official day of hurricane season. While there are no active tropical storms, it is a good time to review your hurricane plan.
