Water flooded the hallways of more than eight floors at an apartment complex in the Bronx Wednesday.
Officials from the NYC Housing Authority (NYCHA) say an act of vandalism caused the flooding to the apartments on Trinity Avenue. They say someone turned on a standpipe in the middle of the night. Not only did it flood the hallways, but it also flooded the elevator shaft. Residents say not having a working elevator is an inconvenience because some tenants have to walk up 20 flights of stairs.
NYCHA is working to fix the elevator.
