Williamsburg residents say liquid, eggs thrown at people from Kent Avenue apartment

Williamsburg residents walking home Monday night were shocked and terrified after they say a mystery liquid was among the things apparently thrown onto them as they walked underneath a second-story apartment on Kent Avenue.

One victim, who asked not to be identified, said "I just felt just a massive amount of water fall on me."

At least four other people had the same experience around 8 p.m., saying "it was sticky and it had like a milky residue, and it smelled like bleach."

The residents say they feel like they were targeted - and it seemed as if the resident was watching out of the window, throwing the liquid, and sometimes even eggs, as people walked by.

After being hit, the victim says "I just ran home, and my thoughts were racing through my head, because I was terrified that it could have been toxic or acid or something, so I took my clothes off and just threw them in a corner, and I could smell the bleach from across the room."

The idea of being recognized by the neighbor who allegedly did this had multiple victims too scared to publicly share their experiences, with the one saying "I don't want to believe that a fellow New Yorker was doing this on my block and I think that dialogue was preventing me from calling 911."

Other people who were hit did call the police, but say when the officers got there, all they did was shine a flashlight up at the apartment. According the victims, the officers told them that since there are no videos or proof that it came from that exact window, there's not really anything they can do.

"It's very clear which window it's coming from, it's obvious which building it is and I think the police or building management need to care a little bit more about what's happening," argued the victim. "You shouldn't feel unsafe walking home."

Workers in the building know about it also, telling News 12 off camera they have been getting similar complaints about the apartment for months.

A representative from management told News 12 they had no comment.

News 12 also reached out to the NYPD to ask if there is anything else the victims can do, and so far, has not heard back.
