Thunderstorms moved through this evening bringing air quality improvements with it-- we went from unhealthy levels of smoke in the air to moderate. This will be short-lived as more wildfire smoke will continue to blow through lowering air quality.

An air quality alert will remain in effect until late Thursday night for smoke that could reach unhealthy categories.

Early storm chances will clear out by midnight. We remain mostly dry and smoky through the rest of the workweek.

Saturday and Sunday will feature rain and storms that will help break the heat and improve air quality.
