The wintry mix of precipitation that began falling late Monday afternoon in Brooklyn made for a hazardous evening commute.
Brooklyn roadways were filled with puddles and slick, slippery surfaces as commuters began heading home.
Drivers are urged to use caution, avoid unnecessary or excessive lane changes and to watch out for icy spots.
Temperatures are expected to increase throughout the week, which will cause the remaining snow to melt but can lead to more icy surfaces as the slush freezes at night.
