A Brooklyn woman is working to spread awareness about dementia after her missing father was found dead.
Police discovered 75-year-old Douglas Armstrong's body in Atlantic Beach on Long Island Friday. His daughter, Serita, says his car was parked just a half-mile away.
"He was frozen. He had been there entirely way too long," she says.
Serita says her father started showing signs of dementia about a year ago, but she never imagined it would progress so quickly.
She says she wants to spread awareness about the signs of dementia, like forgetting to change clothes or eat.
Dementia warning signs include forgetting names, meals, to change clothes, becoming withdrawn and having a hard time solving problems.
