A woman who claims she may have received diseased bone during back surgery is now suing the company involved in the Brooklyn body part scheme.
Pamela Grigorian says she lives in constant fear knowing that the bone transplant she received could be riddled with disease. Grigorian says Biomedical Tissue Services (BTS) provided the bone she received. BTS and owner Michael Mastromarino are accused of stealing tainted tissue from funeral homes and altering paperwork to make it seem as if it was obtained properly.
Mastromarino, former Brooklyn funeral home owner Joseph Nicelli and two other men are charged in the scheme. Lawyers for the men plan to ask the judge to throw out the charges, saying their clients are innocent. The men are due back in court in August.
