Major League Baseball is making an effort to make their sport a more welcoming place for gay players, coaches and staff.
According to MLB.com, the league recently made public its partnership with Athlete Ally, a non-profit organization on a mission to educate and activate athletic communities to eliminate homophobia and transphobia in sports and to champion LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) equality.
The announcement came before Tuesday's All-Star game, and just months after the first openly gay NFL player, Michael Sam, was drafted.
News 12 Brooklyn asked borough residents what they thought about homophobia in professional sports.
