A new article says Americans spend way too much on name-brand products.
The report by Tilburg University and the University of Chicago says that Americans reach for name-brand products rather than generic versions nine out of 10 times.
New research says that Americans waste about $44 billion a year on brands at the pharmacy and supermarkets when they could be buying the exact same product for less.
News 12 Brooklyn asked locals whether they buy name-brand or generic products when shopping.
