Police say a 26-year-old man on a moped remains in critical condition after colliding with a sanitation truck.

Police say around 9:30 a.m., a 26-year-old man on a moped and a Department of Sanitation truck were both making a right hand turn onto Bushwick Avenue, coming off of Flatbush Avenue, when the two collided.

Eyewitnesses tell News 12 the 26-year-old got pinned under the truck.

City data shows there has been four crashes at this intersection since the beginning of this year, something longtime Bushwick residents say comes as no surprise.

"It was just another normal day in Bushwick, unfortunately. It's always been like that ever since I can remember," said Lorenzo Acevedo, a Bushwick resident.

The Department of Sanitation released the following statement:

"The driver is not a City employee. This is a truck that was produced for DSNY, but had not yet been delivered to us; I believe it was being driven between the facilities of two vendors. As DSNY had not yet taken possession of the truck and had no involvement in the crash, there is no additional information we can provide."
